In a half destroyed football stadium, about 300 refugee families are living in small hand made sheds, trying to escape Saddam Hussein’s brutal administration. Aso lives with his mother and younger brother who has lost his legs from a landmine. Aso is in Love with Helin, who lives next door to but alas he has not been able to express his feelings for her. One of the only sources of happiness for these people who live amid fear of poverty and bombings is football. Aso gathers together Kurds, Arabs and Turcomans in order to hold a soccer match at the staidium. Despite their differences which could be a source of conflict for them, they become close neighbours. They turn the stadium into a living space, a playground, and also a place to teach children. Director Shawkat Amin Korki uses a new method to tell the story of the tragedy of war.
