Missing (Wenda) is directed collectively by three Amed (Diyarbakir) based young filmmakers. It is their first feature film made with their own funds. Wenda covers several short stories of ordinary people and their disappearance whether they are shopkeepers, teachers or doctors in Kurdistan at the hands of the JITEM( counter guerrilla unit formed by Turkish army). It is about the impossibility to maintain common life and the difficulties for loved ones to be together in a city that is a thousand years old. Wenda is about a war that has been going on for over 30 years, and an old, foggy city in the middle of this war. It recounts the disappearance of faces in this city and it conjours up the atmosphere and resonance of a City called Amed (Diyarbakir) in the 1990s…
