Bedia, a Kurdish woman of 22 was arrested in 1996 and sentenced to 12 years old prison for her political opinions. In protest to the state’s policies in the prison, she went on a hunger strike for 130 days, resulting in partial amnesia and paralysis. In 2000, when she was released on bail for 6 months, she fled the country. Now living in France, she struggles to piece together her failing memory, with the help of friends and family. This is a compelling story about camaraderie and the human spirit.
