North Kurdistan (Turkey) / 2011 / 45mins / Kurdish (Kurmanji) with English subtitles
When the ban on the Kurdish language was lifted slightly in the early 90s, a group of Kurdish activists began publishing the first Kurdish-language magazine on art and literature. Rewşen was born out of this movement. The magazine went through difficult times being closed down several times and reappearing under new titles. This film traces Rewşen’s contribution to the development and preservation of Kurdish language and literature.
