Twenty-three years after he left Kurdistan at the age of five, Zanyar sits in his suburban Stockholm kitchen. His father, Taher, sits before him. Zanyar, on the edge of fatherhood himself, is compelled to confront his father with the question he has been afraid to ask all his life: How could Taher leave him in the midst of a war and then send him to Sweden all by himself? The encounters between Taher and Zanyar become increasingly intense and emotional in this documentary based on a true story.
