Xanim is a 72 year-old refugee. She has been living on her own for many years in northern Amsterdam. Xanim has worked very hard most of her life, but now senses a void. She determined to confront her illiteracy, which was brought by her father and life’s myriad demands. During a harsh winter in Amsterdam, an event pushes Xanim to discover her hidden capabilities and with a youthful zeal she tackles her condition head on, becoming an Amsterdam celebrity in the process.
